Michael Gabbay serves as a Senior Vice President for Plaza Construction Corp. and has over 28 years of experience in the construction industry. As Senior Vice President of Core & Shell, Mr. Gabbay's duties include oversight and management of current projects, as well as new business development.
Starting as a project engineer and advancing to his present position, he has been involved, responsible for, and managed the construction of a plethora of notable projects in and around New York City's Metropolitan area. Some of Mr. Gabbay's more notable projects include the construction of the Continental Airlines Terminal at Newark Airport, Delta Airlines Terminal at LaGuardia Airport, computer centers for IBM, the Millennium Hotel in lower Manhattan, and academic facilities for New York University and Columbia University.
Mr. Gabbay is currently contributing his expertise to a number of premier projects, including the Astoria Energy Project, a $50,000,000, 23 acre new power plant being constructed in Queens; Astor Place Project, a new high-end residential 150,000 sq. ft. $45,000,000 building; and New York University School of Law, a 10-story mixed-use 170,000 sq. ft. $70,000,000 project.
Mr. Gabbay is the Chairman of the Greater New York Construction User Counsel; on the Board of Governors of the Building Trades Employers Assocation; a member of the Building Trades Arbitration Committee; and a member of the Constriction Industry Task Force, where he was instrumental in the design of a communications program now universally utilized in the construction industry. He has also completed the AIA New York Chapter's continuing education program for New York New Visions, The Design Coalition; Professional Forum. Mr. Gabbay is also on the Board of Directors of the Contractors' Association of Greater New York, Inc. ("CAGNY").
Mr. Gabbay holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona.
