John Hyers, Sr., Senior Vice President/Director of Operations for the New York office of Bovis Lend Lease, has over 35 years of experience in construction management. Mr. Hyers specializes in Managing the filed operations and supervising the construction of buildings with complex structural requirements. His project experience includes the construction management of numerous health care facilities, multi-story hotels, major high-rise office towers and institutional facilities, residential facilities as well as commercial/retail stores throughout the New York City and Long Island areas. Working with different city agencies to ensure smooth running construction projects, Mr. Hyers is knowledgeable in labor relations and union negotiations.
A recent focus of Mr. Hyers has been working with Bovis Lend Lease project executives and the Contractors' Association of Greater New York("CAGNY") to promote Project Labor Agreements ("PLAs") (a contract between owners and the construction trades, typically on complex, long-term projects that involve multiple contractors and trades) with the goal of making union construction more competitive.
In addition to his responsibilities at Bovis Lend Lease, Mr. Hyers is Secretary and a member of the Board of Directors of CAGNY, as well as a member of the Cement League of New York.
