Peter J. Davoren is President and Chief Executive Officer of Turner Construction Company and President and Chief Operating Officer of The Turner Corporation. The Turner Corporation completed $7.0 billion of construction in 2004 and is, through its subsidiaries, the leading general builder in the United States. Turner is the only builder offering clients a nationwide network, with 46 offices across the country, and ranks first or second in the major segments of the building construction field.
A 26-year construction industry veteran, Mr. Davoren has spent his entire career at Turner. His first position in 1978 was as a field engineer in the firm's Boston office. He was transferred to the New York office as an assistant engineer in 1980. Davoren assumed positions of greater responsibility in the years that followed. He was promoted to operations manager of the firm's New York Interiors Group in 1990, manager in 1994 and vice president and manager for the division in 1995. In 1996, he was promoted to vice president and general manager of the New York office, and in 2000, to senior vice president for the firm's New York region, responsible for Turner's New York, New York North, New Jersey, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh offices.
In 2003, Davoren was named president of Turner Construction Company, with responsibility for Turner's core construction operations in all of the firm's business units and oversight for national sales efforts. In early 2004, he was named to the post of chief executive officer of the construction company and president and chief operating officer of The Turner Corporation.
Mr. Davoren is a member of several prominent organizations, including the Building Trades Employers' Association (BTEA), the New York Building Congress, Bronx Chamber of Commerce, Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce and the Real Estate Board of New York. In addition, he is the current Chairman of the Contractors' Association of Greater New York (CAGNY) having most recently been its President.
Mr. Davoren received a Bachelor of Science degree in the School of Architecture from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y.
